Don't worry, I am not retiring my good ol' guard army just yet. There is still a lot of play in it. I am just helping my mate Spyros to sell his vintage guard models since he never uses them anyway. We started the Warhammer hobby with Spyros back in early highschool. I was more into Fantasy then but he was more into 40K. He has accumulated a lot of models over the years and now he wants to get rid some of them.

Ork Warbuggy Completed
Don't you just love ork vehicles? All you have to do is glue together whatever orky bits you might have, stick them four wheels and Robert's your father's brother! The more ramshackle and impossible it looks, the more orky it will be. You can never go wrong. I opted for a much simpler conversion for this buggy though since I already bought the official model. Just wanted to make it look more like a 21st century ork design since I think the old article dates back from the Gorkamorka days of yore. This wasn't too hard as you can see. Just swapped the crue for two of the newer boyz and changed the front panel and the engine from a Trukk (they are useless anyway, didn't mind wasting one for this conversion).

Blood Hammer

Bloody Hammer by skeats |
The wonderful thing about my "current" (when I get the models...) Blood Angels list is that it can easily change to a whole different kind of beastie with just a few tweaks. The main roster is based almost entirely in close combat. Sure, I got a few meltaguns in there, but they function mainly as can openers so that the Marines can get their hands on the squishy stuff inside their transports. But what would happened if a swifted the balance a little bit and introduced some more ranged firepower elements to the list? Enter the Blood Hammer!
Basically, the Blood Hammer is your standard DoA jumpers list with a good measure of Devastators for fire support. As you may know, Red Devs are very cost effective. A hundred and thirty points for a Signum and four Missile Launchers? Yes, please! Okay, still not as good as Longfangs but still much better than their Vanilla counterparts and all around excellent for their given job. Add in the fact that you can make them a lot more survivable than any other MEQ race out there and their value proliferates. But more on that little bit later.
Warbands League's first season ended (rather abruptly)

The End by nomeacuerdo - En modo chnacho zombie (cc) |
Here is the official statement from the organisers. For you Greek challenged out there it is pretty much saying the following. This was just a trial phase and it just ended. For the record, Φαμπουλόζοι (that's my team) won. Apparently I was the player with the most points in the tournament or so I have been told. That's not too hard to imagine though if you consider that I had three conceded games in my favour. Talk about some luck there! Anyway, the League is now going to enter it's next season which is now going to be official.
As I said, that was kinda abrupt. At the beginning, we had arranged to play ten games divided between two periods and that would be the whole season. However we managed to play only five. From what I understand, this happened because a few of the teams unofficially quit the league, i.e. didn't bother playing their games or handing in their results. The organisers gathered a lot of experience from that first trial phase so now things can be run more smoothly.

Check this out: War Tales
Gentlemen, I would like to talk to you tonight about one of my favourite places in the blogsphere. War tales! It is a humble blog (if you look at it this way) of a fellow Greek warhammer enthusiast. However, I have never seen anyone with such a creative output (in quantity and quality) except maybe from some professional painters. Every other day, he will post a picture (or two) of a beautifully painted miniature and most of the times it will be accompanied by some fluffy text or a mini editorial which is always a joy to read. I like this blog so much, I am already following it twice!

Vanguard Veterans Finally Finished
At last! I put the final touches today and here they are for your viewing pleasure. I couldn't resist to give them some cheesy vampiresque storm shield. I think they look good enough with the rest of the model. But without further ado here they are in all their glory:

Another Milestone Moment! 100 followers!
After six month of existence, this blog has finally acquired 100 followers. This might not seem like much compared to some other blogs out there that count thousands of followers but it is very very important to me. So, I would like to take this opportunity and thank everyone who has been following me in my little journey on the world of warhammer. I know that I am not a very organised person so I hope that people tolerate my (often than not) random rambling. I also have a severe case of hobby ADD as you may have noticed. What started as a Guard dedicated blog mainly about painting, has evolved to be many more things concerning various armies. Again, I hope that people don't mind. At least you don't know what to expect next from me and I am not very predictable.
Special thanks to Moskitokiller and Tzif for contributing their fine articles for this blog. They have proved to be some of the more popular articles published here. Let's hope that they will do many more contributions in the future, adding their unique flavour in this little part of the Internet. So, next goal...100 posts!
