Greater Daemon of Slaanesh

I painted this guy (gal?) a while back but for some reason I didn't post about it. I wouldn't say I enjoyed the painting process that much. Painting a large resin model has it's problems, mainly putting everything together in the end. I painted it almost the same way as I did with my Slaaneshi Daemon Prince. One more Daemon Prince left and then I will focus on Tzeentch. More pictures after the jump.

Hey peeps!
Yes, I know, long time no post and all that jazz. I 've been pretty busy mind you, have a few projects on the go at the moment. However I haven't managed to produce a single completely finished miniature until now. Well, I proudly present this guy. Check more glamour shots after the jump.

More Flesh Hounds Painted

Keeping up with the Daemon craze, here is another five Flesh Hounds I finished. Pretty similar to the ones I painted last week since they are from the same unit and I wanted to keep the colour scheme consistent. 

Pink Horrors of Tzeentch Painted

Continuing with my Chaos Daemons reimagining, the next unit is a bunch of Pink Horrors. I did paint a few of them way back in 2011 but I never thought I'd use them on the table top. I am glad I did thought because now I believe that the models are awesome and a joy to paint and it also gives me the excuse of painting something really pink. 

Flesh Hounds of Khorne Painted

Hey guys! I am not going to even try to insult you by giving excuses why I haven't posted for so long. I just didn't warhammer (is it a verb now?) much these last few months so I didn't have anything to write about. I've been mainly meeting with my mates on weekends, playing board games (mainly Fantasy Flight games) and that's a pretty good pastime if you ask me. Also, after the initial excitement of 6th ed., my interest kinda died down for reasons I don't care to explain right now.

Breaking News: My Necrons on the GW website

I think I am running out of ways to say "Necrons", "GW" and "website" on a post title but I had to share it with you guys. I am really excited to say that GW put up some pictures of my Necrons on their main website (and few days before linked my Sanguinary Guard gallery on Flickr on their Facebook page). I am chuffed to be honest. This is exactly the same pictures that I posted on Friday by the way. Take a closer look though:

Ork Lootas completed

Nothing too special for today. I needed these guys for the tournament tomorrow. I generally don't like to linger too much on ork units since there are so many of them to paint. No way I could spent as much time on them as for my Blood Angels or even my Imperial Guard or I'd never finish the army. So, another quicky paintjob for this unit, took me around an afternoon's worth of time to finish.

Necrons Showcase

My Necron (Over)lord, had so much fun with this guy and his veil of darkness.

All this talk about the new Necrons got me really really excited. Can't wait to see some proper pictures of the new units with the preorders tomorrow. I've been playing with 'crons for quite a  long time now you see (2003) and I've been waiting for a new codex for years. Here is a little showcase of the Necron models I've already fully painted. 

Ogre Pirate Maneater Completed

That's the first guy I've painted for my new army and I must say that I am thrilled. Most of the Ogre model range is awesome and this particular guy was a joy to paint. Quite addictive actually. The large surfaces of the models are very convenient for blending. I followed the 'Eavy Metal paint scheme quite closely since I really liked the original colours (especially the rusted weapons) with a few changes here and there. The main difference is that I  painted most of the cloths quite darker so that the flesh and red tones would be more prominent. I also painted the gnoblar parrot differently since I wanted him to have a yellow beak. Speaking of the little fellor

Assault Squad reporting for duty, sir!

And I present you today the second part of my Assault Squad. I actually finished these guys a few days ago but I couldn't be bothered taking any pics. They were done pretty much like the last batch with the only difference being that I pre-highlighted them with white before I applied the red paint. The guy on the right looks a bit off since, if you remember, he was my test model. Ah, well, I hope nobody noticed him in the crowd. Sanguinary Guard Finished

Finally finished these glorious beasts. Only took me 5 weeks (sarcasm intended). I guess, they are my most elite unit so they deserve a super flash paint job. Since I don't like "gold" paints, I basecoated the models with chainmail and built up the colour using various filters. I think you get a nice result this way. Blood Angels Assault Combat Squad 1 finished

I haven't been idle this last few weeks if you wanna know. I've been painting almost every day (albeit with my slower than slow, usual pace). Hell, I even finished these guys almost 10 days ago but I couldn't be bothered taking any pictures until now. They didn't take as long as my Vanguard Veterans to complete (much less details you see which isn't necessarily a bad thing) but still took me about a week. I decided to use pre shading with the airbrush instead of highlighting with lighter colours and I think it works better. My Orcs and Goblins

I don't know about you but I got really excited with the upcoming Orcs and Goblins release. This gave me an excuse to dust my old models and take some pictures. Keep in mind that these models were painted a while ago and with speed and efficiency in mind. I didn't want to waste my youth painting Night Goblins anyway! So here are my lovelies:

Ork Warbuggy Completed

Don't you just love ork vehicles? All you have to do is glue together whatever orky bits you might have, stick them four wheels and Robert's your father's brother!  The more ramshackle and impossible it looks, the more orky it will be. You can never go wrong. I opted for a much simpler conversion for this buggy though since I already bought the official model. Just wanted to make it look more like a 21st century ork design since I think the old article dates back from the Gorkamorka days of yore. This wasn't too hard as you can see. Just swapped the crue for two of the newer boyz and changed the front panel and the engine from a Trukk (they are useless anyway, didn't mind wasting one for this conversion).

Vanguard Veterans Finally Finished

At last! I put the final touches today and here they are for your viewing pleasure. I couldn't resist to give them some cheesy vampiresque storm shield. I think they look good enough with the rest of the model. But without further ado here they are in all their glory:

Pinkiest Horrors Ever!

Well, not really but you must admit they are pretty pink! I finished these guys over the last couple of days. Mainly because I was tired of waiting for my Blood Angel order to arrive and really needed something to sink my teeth into. It was a fairly fast paintjob (for my standards anyway) and I am pleased with the result. 

Wyches Brew

The other day my mate Leonidas came around my place for some help with painting his wyches. He had to attend a tournament this weekend so he needed my skills with the airbrush for some fast results.

He wanted a dark red colour for the armour so I decided to undercoat the models black for added convenience.
I airbrushed a mixture of black and red paint, keeping it always as at a certain angle to achieve some highlighting.

After we painted all the skin parts with Dwarf Flesh and the hair with Orkhide Shade. I then airbrush Gloss Varnish to aid with washing. I used Thraka Green for the armour and enamel brown wash from MIG for the skin and hair. Leonidas had to leave at that point but I kept a model to further test the colour scheme. Blood Angels Test Model

I had a very particular way that I wanted to paint my upcoming Blood Angel army. I know I had to keep the paintjob simple and fast otherwise I will never get around to finish them. It's a small army but still if I kept adding more and more details it would take up ages to complete (if ever). There are a few things that speed up the painting process, mainly airbrushing and washing, so I was going to use them in good effect, I tried what I had in mind on a test piece I made from the Command Squad sprue (still waiting for the other stuff to arrive) and it worked the way I had imagines. So this is how I did it:

311 Infantry Squad Part 1

So this is the first infantry squad of my platoon. Autocannon and 3 ordinary guardsmen. I had done most of the painting on these guys a few years back (5-6) but I did some touch ups and added weathering (armour chips and mud). One of the most difficult things in the process was cutting out the decal to form the"311" on the shoulder pad. I had to cut the "31" part from "317" on the Cadian tranfer sheet and then the "1" from "190". Aligning it all together was kinda difficult for me but in the end I think I did alright (althought some of them turned a bit crooked).
I wasn't sure how to take pictures of multiple miniatures before but I got this idea from Courtney @ Cadian 127th. That is to take each one picture individual and then stitch them together in photoshop (thanks Leah!).

                      

First Hydra

This is the second vehicle I managed to finish for the army. The first of two Hydras this time. I manage to use the weathering techniques to a better extend since I am getting used to them. Also this time I was much faster and I hope next time I'll finish even quicker.
